Tumacácori

Tumacácori National Historical Park is about twenty miles north of Nogales, or forty miles south of Tucson. The mission was founded by Father Kino. It fell into ruin until 1908, when it became a national park. Many of these images were shot on Christmas Eve, when the adobe and the last light of December do something quiet to each other.

This is a small, specific body of work — not a drive-by of every mission in the Santa Cruz valley. The prints below are that evening, and the ones like it.
