Light-rail construction started in 2005. I began photographing along the route from start to finish. There are a lot of frames in various stages of construction. The line has changed the look and feel of downtown Phoenix.
The original stretch ran from Christown Mall at 19th Avenue and Bethany Home Road in Phoenix to Dobson and Main in Mesa. This portfolio is that build — not a transit brochure, a record of a city putting a rail down the middle of itself. More prints will join it as they are made.
